About the Festival
Does a member of your family sing, play an instrument, or act? The
Woodley Festival of Music & Arts provides a warm and friendly environment to
perform before a professional adjudicator and a supportive audience.
The festival is open to all –
children and adults – individually, or with others.
Classes are at
beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
There are
sections for: Instrumental, Organ, Piano, VerseandProse, and Vocal.
Although a competitive festival, we aim to
emphasise the enjoyment of performance and appreciation of others’
efforts.

Infants & Wescott Infants)
Nearly 5,000 people visited the Festival last
year (see our
archive), breaking all records. More than 1,600 of these were
performers and there were 900 performances. Well over 50 volunteers are involved in running the
Festival, co-coordinated by a small committee.

We all look
forward to welcoming you to the next Woodley Festival.

The dates of the 2009 Festival are
the weekends of 28th Feb/1st March, 7/8th March and 14/15th March
with the Festival Finale Concert on Sunday 26th April.
The full schedule for the Festival will be published in due course.
In the interim see the 2008
Festival for an an indication of classes trophies and awards,
entry procedures etc. The 2009 festival will be run on similar

There is a growing pool of volunteers who help
during the Festival, but it cannot run without planning and
preparation – tasks largely, but not necessarily, undertaken by
committee members. Click here to find
out how you can help.

to MANNINGUK
